Coin Highlights:
This 1921 Peace Silver Dollar is an MS64 specimen that exhibits light scattered marks with a few possibly in the primary focal fields. This 1921 Peace Dollar has a vibrant mint luster in the central fields and a delicate toning along the rim with an amber-gold color. These coins represent a cornerstone for the Peace Dollar Series. As the first date in the program, it offers historical significance with a quality eye appeal.
The 1921 release of Peace Dollars included a low mintage of just over one million coins, with all specimens struck in high relief. The 1921 issue and early 1922 issues from Philadelphia featured high-relief strikes, but the US Mint halted the production of high-relief coins in early 1922 given the difficulty in achieving a consistent strike.
The obverse of 1921 Peace Dollar Coins comes with a left-profile relief of Lady Liberty. Designed by Anthony de Francisci, this image shows Liberty wearing a towering crown of light with flowing hair. The phrase IN GOD WE TRUST is found on this side with the unique use of Latin lettering in trust, where the U is replaced by a V.
On the reverse of 1921 Peace Silver Dollars, you will find a depiction of the American bald eagle. The eagle is shown here perched on a ledge with its wings resting at its sides as it gazes off into the distance toward the rising sun.
