For the first time since 1904, Morgan Silver Dollars were struck in 1921 as the United States Mint resumed production of fresh silver dollars for circulation. Today, certified 1921 Morgan Silver Dollar Coins are available to you online from JM Bullion.
Coin Highlights:
In 1878, the United States Mint resumed coining silver dollars after halting the Seated Liberty Dollar five years earlier. With the reintroduction of the silver dollar in 1878, a new design from George T. Morgan was released into circulation. The coin design became so synonymous with the designer that it remains known to this day as the Morgan Silver Dollar.
All of these 1921 Morgan Silver Dollars are available to you for purchase in MS61 condition with protective plastic slabs for delivery. MS61 coins have diminished or otherwise impaired mint luster. The coins may exhibit flaws ranging from clusters of large and small contact marks to hairlines that are easily noticeable. Scuff marks and unattractive patches are also possible.
On the obverse of 1921 Morgan Silver Dollars is a bust of Lady Liberty. This 1878 design comes from George T. Morgan and features Liberty in left-profile relief with a Phrygian cap on her head. In addition to the cap, Liberty wears a coronet crown and a laurel wreath. There are 13 stars on this side, along with a date mark.
The reverse face of 1921 Morgan Silver Dollar Coins features the heraldic eagle of the United States. Also designed by George T. Morgan, this visual shows the bald eagle in front-facing relief with its wings flexed, the arrows of war and the olive branch of peace in its talons, and a laurel wreath surrounding the bird.
