On the obverse of the 1906-D $20 Gold Double Eagle Coin, you will find the effigy of Lady Liberty. Her head is shown in left-profile relief with a coronet crown on her head. The 1906 issue was the penultimate coin with the Liberty Head bust on the obverse.
The reverse side of 1906-D Pre-33 Liberty Gold Double Eagle Coins comes with an image of the Great Seal of the United States. Designed by James B. Longacre, this visual is an ornate twist on the heraldic eagle and includes a front-facing bald eagle with the arrows of war, the olive branch of peace, and the US national shield.
