The obverse of 1902-S $20 Liberty Double Eagle Coins features a portrait of Lady Liberty. Designed by James B. Longacre, the 4th Chief Engraver of the United States Mint, this effigy shows Liberty in left-profile relief with a coronet crown on her head and a ring of 13 stars around her figure.
On the reverse of 1902-S Pre-33 Liberty Gold Double Eagles, you will find the American bald eagle with the US national shield, arrows of war, and the olive branch of peace. This design is a Type III reverse with the added national motto in the ring of stars (1866) and the modified denomination as TWENTY DOLLARS (1877).
