The reverse of the 1901 $10 Liberty Eagle displays a heraldic eagle with a shield across its chest. The eagle holds arrows and an olive branch, symbolizing strength and peace. The inscriptions UNITED STATES OF AMERICA and IN GOD WE TRUST appear above, with TEN D below. The motto was added in 1866 after the Civil War.
