The US Mint’s Liberty Head Eagle Coin, a $10 gold piece, holds the record for the longest-running design in the US Eagle denomination. This enduring visual, created by Christian Gobrecht (the 3rd Chief Engraver of the United States Mint) in 1838, appeared on $10, $5, and $2.50 Eagle coins. The $10 Liberty Eagle maintained its production for an impressive 69 years, from 1838 to 1907. Right now, certified 1900 $10 Liberty Gold Eagle Coins are available from JM Bullion.

Each of the 1900 $10 Liberty Gold Eagle Coins offered here come in Mint State 63 condition. The coins arrive in plastic slabs with slightly impaired mint luster. MS63 coins tend to exhibit a combination of small contact marks and a few heavier marks, some of which may be in the primary focal fields. Hairlines are also possible and may feature as a few scattered hairlines or a single, small patch of flaws.
The 1900 release of $10 Liberty Gold Eagles marked a change from previous years with only two branch mints issuing the coins. The Philadelphia Mint and San Francisco Mint were the only branches to strike the coins, with volume down significantly compared to the previous year. In total, just under 400,000 coins were struck, with Philadelphia issuing 293,840 coins and San Francisco only 81,000 coins.
The obverse of the 1900 Liberty Gold Eagle comes with a portrait of Lady Liberty. This design from Christian Gobrecht features the head of Liberty in left-profile relief. She wears a coronet crown on her head and there is a ring of 13 stars around the effigy. The date mark is engraved at the bottom of the field.
On the reverse of 1900 $10 Liberty Eagle Coins is a depiction of the heraldic eagle. The American bald eagle is set here in front-facing relief with its wings spread and the US national shield on its chest. The eagle clutches the arrows of war and the olive branch of peace. As a Type II coin, these specimens include a banner with the national motto above the eagle.
