The Fairmont Collection is a group of Pre-33 US Gold Coins that were recently unearthed in foreign bank vaults. These coins were minted at the US Mint and used in international commerce between the United States and other foreign countries. These coins bear the “CC” mint mark indicating that they were struck at the Carson City Mint. The branch of the US Mint was created in 1863 but didn’t open till 1870. The mint struck coins every year until going on a brief hiatus from 1886-1888. Production resumed in 1889 and coins were struck until their closure in 1893.
Each 1892-CC $10 Liberty Gold Eagle Coin will arrive within a protective plastic slab from the PCGS. Every coin in this listing has been given a grade of XF45 by the esteemed coin grading service. XF45 coins exhibit light wear on the high relief points and come with the possibility of some mint luster remaining.
Lady Liberty is on the obverse field of every 1892-CC $10 Liberty Eagle Coin. This bust was created in 1838 and showcases Liberty wearing a coronet crown in left-profile relief.
A heraldic eagle is on the reverse side of the 1892-CC Liberty Gold Eagle Coin. Also created in 1838, the eagle is clutching a bundle of arrows and an olive branch. The national shield is displayed on the chest of the bald eagle.
