The obverse field of each 1892-CC Liberty Gold Eagle Coin features Lady Liberty. This depiction of Liberty was created by Christian Gobrecht in 1838. Liberty is seen in left-profile relief donning a coronet crown and is surrounded by 13 stars.
The reverse side of the 1892-CC $10 Gold Eagle Coin displays a heraldic eagle. The bald eagle is seen in front-facing relief with a national shield on its chest. The eagle is clutching both an olive branch and arrows in its talons. This image was also created by Christian Gobrecht in 1838.
Each 1892-CC $10 Liberty Gold Eagle Coin will arrive in a PCGS protective plastic slab. Every coin in this listing was given an AU50 grade from the Professional Coin Grading Service. AU50 coins have wear patterns that are extremely light and limited to the highest relief points on the coin. These coins also have medium or near-full mint luster.
These coins were produced at the historic Carson City Mint, one of the now-defunct branches of the United States Mint. The Carson City Mint opened in 1870 and ran until 1885. The mint took a brief hiatus before reopening in 1889 where they struck coins until they closed in 1893.
