The Morgan Silver Dollar, designed by George T. Morgan, was first minted by the United States Mint in 1878 and produced annually until 1904. The final coins were struck in 1921, making the Morgan Dollar a symbol of American currency during pivotal historical moments, including the Reconstruction Era, the Gilded Age, and the early 20th century, leading into the Roaring 20s. Right now, 1887 Morgan Silver Dollar Coins are available from JM Bullion.

On the reverse of 1887 Morgan Silver Dollars, the heraldic eagle appears in Morgan’s unique style. While the design omits a national shield, the eagle is presented in a front-facing position, with wings spread wide and talons clutching the olive branch and arrows of war.
