Introduced in 1878, the Morgan Silver Dollar is one of the most popular historic US coins with modern collectors. The coins were produced from 1878 to 1904 and again in 1921. Over the course of time, five branch mints issued the coins. Carson City coins are some of the most popular and were issued for only 13 dates. Coin Highlights:
When the Morgan Silver Dollar debuted in 1878, the Philadelphia, San Francisco, and Carson City Mints produced the coins. Carson City would remain active in Morgan Dollar production from 1878 to 1885 and again from 1889 to 1893. However, many of the coins it produced wound up sitting in Treasury vaults for decades.
All of these 1884-CC Morgan Silver Dollar Coins are available to you in GSA slabs with an MS64 grade from the NGC. The coins have an average mint luster with small contact marks in groups, one or two moderate marks, small patches of hairlines, and light scuff marks. Part of the GSA hoard, these coins were auctioned off originally in the 1970s by the General Services Administration.
Obverse visuals on these 1884-CC Morgan Dollar Coins include Lady Liberty. This left-profile relief features Liberty with a laurel wreath crown and a coronet crown on her head. There are 13 stars around the edge of the design field.
