Coin Highlights:
Each 1883 Morgan Silver Dollar Coin available in this offering is in Brilliant Uncirculated condition. Each coin is housed in a protective plastic flip, with multiples of 20 coins coming in tubes.
The 1883 Morgan Dollar had one of the higher overall mintages across the four branch mints that issued the coins. While the Philadelphia Mint issued the highest volume at 12,290,000 coins, the other branches also supported this production with high volumes of their own. This included 8.725 million coins from the New Orleans Mint, 6.25 million coins from the San Francisco Mint, and 1.204 million coins from the Carson City Mint.
The obverse of the 1883 Morgan Dollar Coin features a portrait of Lady Liberty, designed by George T. Morgan. She is shown in a left-profile view, wearing a Phrygian cap, laurel wreath, and coronet crown—a tribute to freedom and triumph.
On the reverse of 1883 Morgan Silver Dollars, the unique design of the heraldic eagle, also created by Morgan, stands out. The eagle faces forward without the national shield and grasps arrows and an olive branch, representing war and peace.
