The Morgan Silver Dollar Coin is a favorite among American coin collectors. One of the last widely circulated US silver dollars, the Morgan Silver Dollar was available first in 1878 and struck continuously through 1904. The very last issue of the Morgan Dollar came in 1921, giving the Morgan Silver Dollar a 28-year production run in total. Today, certified 1882-CC Morgan Silver Dollar Coins are available to you online at JM Bullion.
Coin Highlights:
US silver dollar coins saw only three designs used for long periods of time in circulation. The first of these was the Seated Liberty Dollar, the design that was used for the longest period of time as it was in circulation for 33 years from 1840 to 1873. The Morgan Dollar’s 28-year run made it the second-longest used design. The third and final design was the Peace Silver Dollar, but it had a much shorter run than its predecessors. Available from 1921 to 1928 and 1934-1935, it was struck for just 10 years in total.
All of these 1882-CC Morgan Silver Dollar Coins are available to you in certified condition from the NGC. A Mint State 63 coin has slightly impaired mint luster with a variety of possible flaws. These include several small contact marks and the potential for a few heavier marks or scuffs as well. You may find that small hairlines are visible on the coins without the aid of magnification.
On the obverse of 1882-CC Morgan Dollars is the effigy of Lady Liberty. Created in 1878 for this series, the design shows Liberty’s head in left-profile relief and includes a Phrygian cap, coronet crown, and laurel wreath on her head.
The reverse side of the 1882-CC Morgan Silver Dollar Coins includes an image of the heraldic eagle. This is one of the few US coin designs to not feature a US national shield with the heraldic eagle. The bird is set in front-facing relief with its wings spread wide as its talons clutch the arrows of war and the olive branch of peace. There is a laurel wreath around the design element.
