The 1881-S release of Morgan Silver Dollar Coins struck at the San Francisco Mint represented the highest total of any branch mint, with 12,760,000 coins struck in the American West. Additional production took place at Philadelphia, New Orleans, and Carson City. These three mints produced 9.163 million coins, 5.708 million coins, and 296,000 coins, respectively.

On the reverse of the 1881-S Morgan Dollar Coin, you will find a striking design of the heraldic eagle. This bald eagle faces forward, its wings spread wide, clutching arrows and an olive branch in its talons. The eagle is flanked by a wreath of oak and laurel.
