Liberty is featured on the obverse of 1881-CC Morgan Dollars. Designed in 1878 by George T. Morgan, this visual shows the bust of Liberty in left-profile relief with a Phrygian cap on her head, as well as a laurel wreath and a coronet crown. This side includes 13 stars and the date mark at the bottom.
A heraldic eagle is depicted on the reverse side of the 1881 Morgan Silver Dollar. This design also comes from George T. Morgan and shows the American bald eagle in front-facing relief. The eagle is shown here with its wings spread as its talons clutch the arrows of war and the olive branch of peace. A laurel wreath encircles the eagle design.
