The reverse side of the 1880-CC Morgan Silver Dollar Coin features a heraldic eagle designed by George T. Morgan. The eagle is seen clutching both an olive branch and arrows in its talons. Identifying marks of the coin surround the design.
Each 1880-CC Morgan Silver Dollar Coin will arrive inside a protective plastic slab from the NGC. These coins have been graded as Mint State 63 by the Numismatic Guaranty Corporation. MS63 coins have impaired mint luster, several small contact marks, and potentially one to two larger contact marks and small hairlines.
The GSA Hoard represents the nearly $3 million worth of Morgan Silver Dollars that were discovered in the vaults of the U.S. Treasury. These Morgan Silver Dollars were stored in vaults in order to be able to payout to citizens who wanted to redeem Silver Certificates. The GSA audit found Silver Dollars from as early as 1878 and as late as 1891, with most bearing the Carson City mint mark.
