Introducing a new form of voluntary currency, containing real gold. Goldbacks are a unique piece of currency that contains actual gold within layers of clear polyester. Goldbacks made their debut in 2019 with a 5-piece set for Utah. Every year since a new state has joined the series as popularity for these gold notes continues to soar. 2023 welcomes South Dakota to the Goldback collection. JM Bullion is proud to make the 10 South Dakota Goldback Gold Note available for purchase, today.
Note Highlights:
Each Goldback displays a feminine depiction of a certain cardinal virtue. The virtue depicted is dependent on the state and denomination of the Goldback. South Dakota is now the 5th state to introduce and accept Goldbacks following Utah, Nevada, New Hampshire, and Wyoming. These gold notes are voluntary currency for the state they’re issued. This means you can use them based on the vendor’s discretion.
A depiction of Harmonia is shown on the obverse field of each 10 South Dakota Goldback Note. In Greek mythology, Harmonia is the goddess of harmony. In this representation, we see Heramonia about to fire an arrow from her bow. Also shown is a collection of animals such as a dog, a deer, and birds.
The reverse design of the 10 South Dakota Gold Note features a mirrored image of the obverse. Due to the extra-thin layer of these Goldbacks, any design on the reverse would interfere with the obverse.
Each 10 South Dakota Goldback Gold Note will arrive in a currency sleeve to preserve the condition of your gold. Every 10 Goldback contains 1/100th Troy oz of actual gold content.
