The Liberty Gold Eagle was produced by the US Mint from 1838-1907. It was the second of the $10 Gold Eagle Coins. Because its mintage period occurred prior to 1933, The Liberty Gold Eagle would be among one of the last pieces of US currency to be minted from genuine gold. Consequently, its purity of 90.0% has made it a highly sought-after investment piece for both investors and collectors. All Liberty Gold Eagles featured in this collection have been professionally graded with a VF (Very Fine) condition.
Coin Highlights:
Gracing the front of this stunning coin is Christian Gobrecth’s neoclassical rendition of Lady Liberty, which incorporates many of the common aesthetics found in early Greco-Roman art. It depicts Lady Liberty in profile, wearing an inscribed crown on top of her elaborately arranged hairstyle. Framing her beautiful profile, along the outer edge of the coin, is a series of thirteen stars. These represent the original thirteen US colonies. Lastly, appearing beneath her portrait is the coin’s mintage year.
The reverse side of the Liberty Gold Eagle displays Gobrecht’s interpretation of the traditional Heraldic Eagle. It features the national bird with its wings at full span as it carries a striped shield, an olive branch and a bundle of arrows. Please note that Liberty Gold Eagles produced after 1866 include the additional element of an unfurling scroll, which appears directly above the eagle; this is printed with the phrase, “In God We Trust.” Regretfully, JM Bullion cannot disclose whether or not this particular design element will be visible on your order since distribution is determined by product availability at the time of order placement.

"I received a 1902 (no mint mark). When I used PCGS photgrade, the condition appeared to be closer to a higher grade of XF45 not VF....This was a pleasant surprise since most retailers overstate the condition of the coins for sale! (If you tried getting Walking Liberty Half Dollars that were supposed to XF at a certain other online retailer then you know what I mean). Good job, JM Bullion!"
"I received an 1897-S that seemed to me to be better than VF condition.....I was very pleased with the coin appearance and the fact that I got one with a mint mark was a bonus!"
