With a mintage period that spans over 69 years from 1838-1907, the Liberty Gold Eagle was the second of the $10 Gold Eagle designs. Framing her beautiful portrait is a border of thirteen stars to symbolize the original thirteen colonies. Proudly embossed unto the reverse side of the coin is Gobrecht interpretation of the Heraldic Eagle, which features the national bird, armed with a shield, an olive branch and a set of arrows. The coin's denomination and year of mintage have been engraved along the outer edge of the coin for reference.
