On the obverse of SilverTowne Buffalo Silver Rounds, you’ll find a right-profile effigy of an indigenous figure. James Earle Fraser created this design for the US Mint in 1913, and it first featured on the Buffalo Nickel. The design is a composite of the physical features of three real-life tribal leaders from early 20th-century America.

The reverse of 1 oz SilverTowne Buffalo Silver Rounds features an American plains bison. Fraser created this design in 1913 as well, for the Buffalo Nickel, using Black Diamond as inspiration for his design. The image shows a massive Plains bison in left-profile relief as it grazes on a mound of first.
