Scottsdale Mint is one of America’s most respected private mints, with its product lineup growing from silver bars and rounds to include classic, cast silver bars and a growing series of colorized silver products. The silver bar available in this listing is a classic example of cast production. Today, 1 oz Scottsdale Mint Cast Silver Bars are available from JM Bullion.
Bar Highlights:
Cast-poured silver bars are created by placing silver shot or ingots into a designated mold or cast. This mold consists of a top and bottom section that fully enclose the metal during the process. The mold is then heated, commonly through the use of induction technology. After the silver cools, the bar is removed from the mold and given its final finish. In some cases, cast silver bars are made by injecting molten silver into the mold through a narrow opening.
All 1 oz Scottsdale Mint Cast Silver Bars are available in protective packaging and come with stamped markings. The obverse field has the Scottsdale emblem, which has been stamped into the surface of the square silver bar, creating a sunken depiction of the mint’s seal.
In the obverse of Scottsdale Mint Cast Silver Bars, you will find the crowned lion of the Scottsdale Mint. The lion is set in front-facing relief and has a thick, defined mane. For the reverse, the identifying hallmarks of the bar are engraved. These identifiers include the mint name, as well as the weight, purity, and metal content.
