The Intaglio Mint has a diverse catalog of unique designs for silver rounds that include ancient American coinage from the colonial era, historic and mythical beasts, and even the brave men of the Spartan Army who fought to the death with an overwhelming force of Persians. The Molon Labe Series represents the latter of those options and includes a variety of designs. Today, 1 oz Molon Labe Silver Rounds are available to you online from JM Bullion.
Round Highlights:
Sparta’s army was widely feared throughout the ancient world. Among the city-states of Ancient Greece, Sparta was viewed as the most powerful on the field of battle. Young Spartan men were taken at a young age and trained in military tactics, strength, conditioning, and hand-to-hand combat. All the Spartans needed to go down in history was a famous last stand.
All 1 oz Molon Labe Silver Rounds are available to you in brand-new condition and feature the fifth design in this impressive series. Each one of the design elements in this series offers a different glimpse of the Battle of Thermopylae. Individual silver rounds in this collection come with protective plastic flips or mint tubes of up to 20 rounds.
On the obverse side of 1 oz Molon Labe Silver Rounds is the image of a Spartan warrior who has emerged from behind the battle line to attack the onrushing Persian soldiers. Spartans were taught to fight bravely and were not afraid of meeting their fate on the field of battle. Though this Spartan seems overwhelmingly powerful as he seeks to drive a spear into his enemy as he holds him by the throat, you can notice that he’s taken two arrows to his right thigh. Despite the wounds, he continues to fight on.
The reverse of 1 oz Molon Labe Rounds includes the official seal of the Intaglio Mint. This side includes the seal in the center with a Romanesque column in the shape of an “I.” the background field has a radial sunburst and the outer design edge has a hammered background field that includes five bullet points on either side of the center.
