This exquisite 1 oz Mercury Dime Silver Round pays tribute to the original Mercury Dime, which enjoyed circulation from 1916 to 1945 and was among the last pieces of US currency to contain any genuine silver in its composition. Each round has been finely crafted from 1 troy oz of .999 pure silver and is guaranteed to be delivered in brand new condition. As a protective measure, every piece is shipped in either a sealed plastic sleeve or a mint-sealed tube of 20 pieces. Please note that while this silver round’s design is based on an actual coin, it is not a legally a piece of currency, nor can it function as such.
Coin Highlights:
Collectors will undoubtedly be impressed by how closely the engraved details of this piece replicate the original design of Mercury Dime. On the front of each round is artist Adolph Weinman’s unique portrayal of Lady Liberty. This image draws its inspiration from the Greek god, Mercury and portrays Liberty attired in the winged messenger’s iconic helmet. Appearing above the portrait as an arched heading is the name “Liberty.” Underneath reads, “In God We Trust.”
The reverse side of the round offers a stylized rendition of the heraldic eagle. It features a star spangled shield, upheld by a pair of eagle wings. Further contributing to the patriotic motif of this design are the national flag, which waves proudly above the shield, and the series of stars to that appear its left and right. Engraved along the border of the round are its purity and weight.
