The flag’s evolution began in 1606 when James VI of Scotland became James I of England, uniting the two crowns. The first Union Flag was created by combining the flags of England and Scotland. This version featured the red cross of St. George superimposed on the white X of St. Andrew on a blue field. It was initially used only at sea on civil and military ships of both England and Scotland.
All 1 oz Colorized Scottsdale United Kingdom Flag Silver Bars are available here with plastic capsules. Scottsdale Mint’s identifying markers are found on the obverse of Colorized Scottsdale United Kingdom Flag Silver Bars. The Scottsdale Lion, the crowned lion emblem of the mint, is set on the right side of the field. The Scottsdale Mint name is found on the left, while the weight, purity, and metal content are at the top.
The flag of the United Kingdom features on the reverse of 1 oz Colorized United Kingdom Flag Silver Bars. The modern flag of the United Kingdom, commonly known as the Union Jack or Union Flag, is a combination of three older national flags: the red cross of St. George (patron saint of England) on a white background, the white diagonal cross of St. Andrew (patron saint of Scotland) on a blue background, and the red diagonal cross of St. Patrick (patron saint of Ireland) on a white background. This design represents the union of different parts of the British Isles.
