The Texas state flag, commonly known as the Lone Star Flag, was adopted on January 25, 1839, when Texas was still an independent republic. It consists of a vertical blue stripe on the hoist side, taking up one-third of the flag’s width, and two horizontal stripes of equal size occupying the remaining two-thirds – white on top and red on the bottom. In the center of the blue stripe is a single white five-pointed star.
All 1 oz Colorized Scottsdale Texas State Flag Silver Bars are available to you inside individual acrylic capsules. The Texas Flag Bar is part of the Scottsdale Flag Bar Series and shares an obverse with all other issues in the collection. In total, the collection represents all 50 US states and four different countries.
The obverse of the Colorized Scottsdale Texas State Flag Silver Bar comes with the Scottsdale Lion. This crowned lion is the logo of the mint and is set on the right side of the design field. The name of the mint is set on the left side of the design field, while the identifying hallmarks are engraved at the top of the field.
On the reverse of 1 oz Colorized Texas State Flag Silver Bars is the colorized flag of the Lone Star State. The lone star is the most iconic element of the flag and the source of Texas’s nickname, “The Lone Star State.” This star has multiple interpretations. It can represent Texas as an independent entity, harkening back to its time as the Republic of Texas (1836-1845). It also symbolizes unity – all of Texas rallying around a single cause. Some interpret it as a reminder that Texas was once an independent nation and retains a spirit of independence within the United States.
