The new state flag of Mississippi was officially adopted on January 11, 2021, replacing the previous flag that had been in use since 1894. The change came after decades of controversy surrounding the old flag, which featured the Confederate battle emblem. The new design, officially named “The New Magnolia,” was chosen through a public submission process and a series of votes.
All 1 oz Colorized Scottsdale Mississippi State Flag Silver Bars come with an acrylic capsule and a colorized reverse design depicting the flag of Mississippi. This is one of 54 designs in the Scottsdale Flag Bar Series, with the other 49 states included, as well as the US, UK, Australian, and Canadian flags.
On the obverse of the Colorized Scottsdale Mississippi State Flag Silver Bar, you will find the mint logo, name, and identifying hallmarks. The Scottsdale Lion appears on the right side of the field and the mint name is engraved on the left. The weight, metal content, and purity of the bar are engraved at the top.
The reverse side of 1 oz Colorized Mississippi State Flag Silver Bars comes with a replication of the new Mississippi flag. The flag features a white magnolia blossom centered on a blue background. The magnolia, Mississippi’s state flower, is surrounded by a circle of 20 five-pointed stars, representing Mississippi as the 20th state to join the Union. A larger five-pointed star at the top of the circle represents the indigenous Native American tribes that originally inhabited the region.
