Each 1 oz Colorized Scottsdale Hawaii State Flag Silver Bar is available with an individual protective capsule. The bars in the Scottsdale Flag Bar Series come with a shared obverse design and a unique depiction of a flag. In total, the series features all 50 state flags and four national flags.
The Hawaii state flag, officially adopted in 1845, is unique among U.S. state flags in its design and history. It features eight horizontal stripes alternating in white, red, and blue, with the Union Jack (the national flag of the United Kingdom) occupying the upper left corner. This distinctive design makes it the only U.S. state flag to include a foreign country’s national flag.
The obverse of the Colorized Scottsdale Hawaii State Flag Silver Bar comes with the Scottsdale Lion, the official emblem of the mint. The crowned lion is set in front-facing relief on the right side of the bar, while the name Scottsdale Mint is engraved on the left. At the top, you’ll find the identifying hallmarks.
On the reverse of 1 oz Colorized Hawaii State Flag Silver Bars, you will find the state flag. The eight stripes on the flag represent the eight main islands of Hawaii: Hawaii (the Big Island), Maui, Oahu, Kauai, Molokai, Lanai, Niihau, and Kahoolawe. The color scheme of red, white, and blue mirrors that of the U.S. flag, symbolizing Hawaii’s status as a U.S. state. The red and white stripes are also said to represent the major Hawaiian gods: Ku, Lono, Kane, Kanaloa, and Kanaloa’s companion, Kapo.
