The current Georgia state flag was adopted on May 8, 2003, after a series of controversies and changes over the years. The flag consists of three horizontal stripes: two red stripes at the top and bottom, with a white stripe in the middle. In the upper left corner, often called the canton, is a blue field containing a circle of 13 white stars surrounding the state’s coat of arms in gold.
All 1 oz Colorized Scottsdale Georgia State Flag Silver Bars are available with individual acrylic capsules. The bars come with a common obverse used in the series and a unique, colorized reverse. The Scottsdale Flag Bar Series comes with designs for each of the 50 US states and four nations.
On the obverse of Colorized Scottsdale Georgia State Flag Silver Bars are the Scottsdale logo, name, and identifying hallmarks. The Scottsdale Lion is on the right side of the design field, while the Scottsdale Mint name is on the left side of the field. At the top of the bar are the weight, metal content, and purity.
The reverse side of the 1 oz Colorized Georgia State Flag Silver Bar depicts the modern flag of the state. The design of the current flag is based on the first national flag of the Confederacy, known as the “Stars and Bars,” but with the addition of the state coat of arms. This design was chosen as a compromise after heated debates over previous versions of the flag that included Confederate symbolism. The 13 stars represent Georgia as one of the original 13 colonies.
