The Arizona state flag was designed by Charles Wilfred Harris, a colonel in the Arizona National Guard, and was adopted on February 27, 1917. It’s considered one of the most distinctive and visually striking state flags in the United States.
In the obverse design of the Colorized Scottsdale Arizona State Flag Silver Bar is the Scottsdale Mint logo. This popular crowned lion image is set on the right side of the bar, while the name Scottsdale Mint appears on the left side. At the top of the bar are the identifying hallmarks.
For the reverse field of 1 oz Colorized Arizona State Flag Silver Bars, the mint offers a colorized image of the state’s flag. The flag is divided into two halves. The top half consists of 13 alternating red and yellow rays emanating from a central point on the left side of the flag. These rays represent both the 13 original American colonies and the spectacular Arizona sunsets. The red and yellow colors are also said to be inspired by the colors carried by Coronado’s Spanish expedition in search of the Seven Cities of Cibola in 1540.
