The new American Western Skulls Collection from Osborne Mint offers silver designs for collectors that love history, folklore, and all things Americana. The period of the American frontier, also known as the Wild West or Old West, was more than a place. It was a geographical concept, but also a source of folklore and cultural expression of the American experience. The 1 oz Colorized Proof American Western Skulls Indian Chief Silver Round is available to you now for purchase online from JM Bullion.

The new 1 oz Colorized Proof American Western Skulls Indian Chief Silver Round has the lowest mintage of the three 1 oz silver issues in this first design release. The colorized proof has all of the beauty in coining of the proof release, with the added layer of visual content that can only come from the inclusion of real-life colors to bring the design to life on the round’s surface.
American Western Skulls Indian Chief Silver Rounds offer the first design in a planned series of six. Other iconic symbols of the Old West scheduled to appear in this collection include the skeletal figures of a Western Sheriff and a Wild West Outlaw. You’ll be able to collect all six designs in the collection across all five options in each release from the Osborne Mint courtesy of JM Bullion.
On the obverse of each 1 oz Colorized Proof American Western Skulls Indian Chief Silver Round is the skeletal remains of a Native American in his full warrior headdress. The full plumage of feathers stretches from side to side, with beautiful colorization added that works in shades of red, white, and blue throughout the design itself. Below the skull there is a set of tomahawks in a crossed position, with engravings of “Liberty” above and the issue date of “2017” below.
The reverse of the American Western Skulls Indian Chief Silver Rounds feature the design that will be used throughout the series. Referred to as the fried eagle, this image is a clever twist on the heraldic eagle found on the reverse of American Silver Eagle coins. It features the American bald eagle’s skeletal form behind the national shield as it clutches the arrows of war in one talon and the olive branch of peace in the other.
Osborne Mint is the coining partner in this collection of silver rounds designed by Doug Stang. Osborne traces its history to 1835 when Andrew Jackson was president.
