Additional engravings on this face of the bar include only its weight and the individual serial number issued to this bar, up to 1,000. These bars come from the First 1,000 1 oz Silver Bars to leave the Asahi Refining facilities in North America. There are no engravings on the obverse face, which features a matte, rough finish.

Asahi Refining is the new North American operational arm of Asahi Ltd, which was founded in Tokyo, Japan in the 1950s as a precious metal scrap collector and recycling firm. Asahi purchase Johnson Matthey’s precious metals refining operations in Salt Lake City, Utah and Brampton, Ontario, Canada for roughly $162 million (USD).
