2019 marks the 50th anniversary of one of America’s crowning achievements of the Cold War. Locked in a battle with the Soviet Union to develop satellites and military arms while expanding influence around the world, the Americans landed one of the greatest blows of the Cold War by landing two men on the moon for the first time in human history. The 1 oz Apollo 11 Silver Round captures this moment in beautiful .999 pure silver and is currently available to purchase from JM Bullion.
Round Highlights:
President John F. Kennedy issued a challenge to his own government and the American people following the Soviet Union’s successful launch of Sputnik, the first satellite to orbit the planet in space. President Kennedy vowed that by the time the 1960s came to a close America would send a man to the moon and return him safely to Earth.
Though President Kennedy would not live to see this crowning achievement, NASA and the American people bore witness to the greatest achievement to date in human history in 1969. On July 20, 1969, mission commander Neil Armstrong and pilot Buzz Aldrin landed on the surface of the moon and would go on to spend 21.5 hours walking on the surface of the moon.
On the obverse side of the 1 oz Apollo 11 Silver Round is the image of the Apollo 11 lunar lander, nicknamed Eagle. The Eagle landed on the moon on that fateful day with Armstrong and Aldrin aboard as Michael Collins remained in orbit aboard the command module Columbia all by himself. While Armstrong and Aldrin walked the surface of the moon they collected a total of 47.5 pounds of lunar material to bring back to Earth with them.
The reverse face of the Apollo 11 Silver Round depicts a different type of Eagle landing on the surface of the moon. This design element features an American bald eagle with its majestic wings spread wide as it touches down on the surface of the moon with its talons. The outline of Earth is visible in the background.
These 1 oz Apollo 11 Silver Rounds are available to you individually or in multiples. The multiples include 20 rounds per tube or Master Boxes that include 500 rounds in total housed in 5 sleeves with 5 tubes per sleeve.

"Impeccable: service, product and reputation. "
"I've added a few more to my collection. A gift for the grandkids one day. Nice looking coin, and great history."
"Home run with this Apollo 11 Silver round! Just a great piece! I ordered more! Well designed and historically significant. Perfect!"
"Yes - we went to the moon, and in 1969 this was a BIG deal! Life had transported itself from Earth to its only natural satellite; two humans stepped onto a surface that was not HOME. It was indeed a giant leap for science and the ability of man. These rounds are a very nice commemoration of that event. My daughter was born in 1969 - so Happy 50th Birthday to her and the anniversary! "
