For the design of this particular silver round, Curcio, known as Mr. The, has created something entirely unique. On the obverse of the 1 oz Antique Hobo Nickel Green Fairy and Fishbones Round you’ll find the image of a scantily clad Green Fairy, who is holding in her hand an intoxicating drink with steam rising from her cup.
The reverse design field of the round includes the skeletal remains of a deep-sea fish as its swims through the environment at the bottom of the oceans. There are a total of five designs scheduled for the Hobo Nickel Series, and this represents the fourth release.
Each of the Hobo Nickel Series releases includes a 1 oz proof, 1 oz antique finish, and 5 oz antique finish. These 1 oz Antique Hobo Nickel Green Fairy and Fishbones rounds have one of the lowest mintage levels in the collection at just 1,000 rounds.
Hobo Nickel Silver Rounds are produced by Osborne Precious Metals, a privately owned mint in Cincinnati, Ohio. The company can trace its roots back to the 1830s, making it the oldest private mint in the United States and the second oldest refinery in the country behind only the United States Mint. All of the coins in the series are design by Heads or Tales Coin Company.
