The Death Dealer is without question one of Frazetta’s greatest designs from a career that covered several decades in the mid and late 20th century. His Death Dealer design came from a 1973 fantasy painting. It was first used publicly on the cover of Molly Hatchet’s first album, and has since been adopted by countless groups, including the United States Army’s III Corp.
Death Dealer is a foreboding image of a warrior mounted on a massive horse, wearing a horned helmet and full body armor. He holds a gigantic shield in his left hand and a bloodied axe in his right. His face is obscured by the shadows of the helmet he wears.
On the obverse side of the 1 oz Antique Frank Frazetta Legacy Collection Death Dealer Silver Round is the image of the rider himself. The reverse bears the image of Frazetta from the 1940s, a small depiction of Frank Jr’s Seal of Authenticity. All designs on these silver rounds were recreated by Luigi Badia, a student of the Frazetta school and overseen by Frank’s son, Frank Jr.
