The Burnished American Gold Eagle made its debut at the United States Mint in 2006. This date mark was the 20th anniversary in the series and came with the introduction of the new burnished coin, a specimen originally offered in the same 1 oz and fractional-ounce options as the BU and Proof coins. Today, those fractional-ounce coins are longer in production, but you can still find available specimens to purchase. Now, near-perfect 1/4 oz Burnished American Gold Eagle Coins are available to you for purchase online from JM Bullion.

Burnished American Gold Eagles were originally available in 1 oz, 1/2 oz, 1/4 oz, and 1/10 oz gold. These four weights were available from 2006 to 2008. In 2009, the program was suspended for two years as all available gold blanks were directed first to the BU Series in 2009, and later to both the BU and Proof coins in 2010 as the latter series returned from its own one-year hiatus in 2009. When Burnished American Eagles returned in 2011, the fractional-ounce coins were no longer offered.
With just three date marks available, the number of 1/4 oz Burnished Gold Eagles is limited. The 2006 release had the highest mintage 15,188, while the 2008 coins had the lowest of the three issues at only 8,883.
Liberty is on the obverse of 1/4 oz Burnished American Gold Eagle Coins. This historic design from Augustus Saint-Gaudens was created in 1907 and shows Liberty in front-facing relief with a torch in one hand and an olive branch in the other. The reverse of 1/4 oz Burnished Gold Eagles features a family of American bald eagles as designed in 1986 by Miley Busiek.
These 1/4 oz Burnished American Gold Eagles come in near-perfect condition. SP69 coins showcase full, original mint luster and have a maximum of two minor detracting flaws. Those flaws must be located outside the primary focal points of the coin and cannot exceed the level of minuscule contact marks or hairlines.
