The Fortuna design is the most popular from the PAMP Suisse refinery. In Roman mythology, Fortuna was the goddess of fortune and the daughter of the king of the gods, Jupiter. Her role in Roman society extended beyond her status as a deity. She was also considered a personification of luck in ancient Roman religion and was even considered a goddess of fate, as well.
Produits Artistiques Metaux Precieux is the French-language name for PAMP Suisse, which has quickly become the world’s leading bullion brand. It is just one of many refineries increasing the availability and production of platinum products. Platinum is one of the rarest precious metals on Earth, and its value rivals that of gold. Unlike gold, platinum also has a number of commercial uses that make demand even greater.
On the obverse side of the ½ oz PAMP Suisse Fortuna Platinum Bar is the image of the goddess. Fortuna is featured with a blindfold over her eyes, a wreath crown, and a cornucopia on her head. The cornucopia curls down toward the bottom of the bar design, where her clutched hands capture the bounty of riches pouring out of the horn.
The reverse side of the bar features the identifying characteristics of the bar that numismatics care about. Below the PAMP Suisse logo is the weight, metal content, and purity of the bar. An assayer’s mark and individual serial number are also engraved on this side.
PAMP Suisse was founded in Ticino, Switzerland in 1977. Today, it is part of the MKS Group, a Geneva-based company with a global precious metals and financial services footprint.
