Coin Highlights:
Each impressive round has been masterfully struck from 1/2 troy oz of .999 fine silver, making it the ideal bullion piece for individuals wishing to diversify their portfolios with medium sized silver investments. All rounds included in this collection are ready to ship in mint condition, encased in either a single protective coin sleeves or sealed tubes. Please be advised that while this round may resemble both the Walking Liberty half-dollar and the American Silver Eagle, it possesses no legal tender face value and cannot be used as an actual piece of currency.
GAM resident artists have exercised great care in the replication of Weinman’s celebrated design. As in the original, the Lady Liberty has been depicted in a star-spangled toga and Phrygian cap. She is seen confidently marching across the great American plains with one arm cradling a bundle of oak and laurel branches while the other extends before her in a gesture of welcome. She is meant to capture the sense of hope and generosity that so many have come to associate with the United States. Further emphasizing the optimistic tone of this piece is the “In God We Trust” inscription that appeared in Weinman’s original design. The only distinction which can be drawn between the round’s design and Weinman’s original artwork is the mintage date, which has been replaced by the GAM’s official mint mark.
Prominently displayed on the back of the rounds is the same heraldic eagle design that appears on the reverse side of the American Silver Eagle, complete with a shield, scroll, olive branch and set of arrows. Encircling it is a ring of text which includes the round’s weight and purity. However, so as not to mistake the round for a genuine American Silver Eagle, the design has omitted the coin’s denomination and replaced the country of issue with the name “Great American Mint.”
