The concept of guardian angels has roots in ancient religious and philosophical traditions spanning multiple cultures. In Zoroastrianism, one of the world’s oldest religions, followers believed in protective spirits called “fravashi.” Ancient Greek philosophy introduced the idea of a personal “daimon” or guiding spirit assigned to each individual. However, the guardian angel concept as we know it today primarily developed through Jewish and Christian theological traditions.
