The Angel of Independence is featured on the obverse of all 1/10 oz Mexican Silver Libertad Coins. This face of the coin features one of two different possible images of Winged Victory. The coins dated 1991 to 1995 in this weight have the original front-facing effigy of Winged Victory as first used in 1921 on the gold Centenario coin from the Mexican Mint. As of 1996, a more modern depiction of Winged Victory in left-profile relief with more prominent mountain peaks in the background is used on the coins.
Mexico’s coat of arms is depicted on the reverse of 1/10 oz Silver Libertads. This version of the national coat of arms is the modern depiction and shows the Mexican golden eagle on a cactus perch as it battles with a serpent.
