One of the most famous designs ever featured on an American coin was that of Walking Liberty. Originally featured on a silver half-dollar coin, and currently the obverse design of the American Silver Eagle, you can find the same image on the 1/10 oz Highland Mint Walking Liberty Silver Round from JM Bullion.
Round Highlights:
Adolph A. Weinman designed the Walking Liberty image in 1916 for use on the Walking Liberty Half Dollar. That coin was originally struck from 1916 to 1947. His image was revived and refined for use on the American Silver Eagle, struck from 1986 to the present day on an annual basis.
The obverse of each of these rounds features Lady Liberty as she strides toward the setting sun. The familiar phrases “Liberty” and “In God We Trust” are engraved on this side of the round. On the reverse, you’ll find the image of a bald eagle perched on an olive branch.
Highland Mint was founded in the early 1908s and features state-of-the-art facilities that give it the capability to take jobs from start to finish, including layout, design, and die making. Located in Melbourne, Florida, it is best known for its commemorative NFL, NHL, MLB, and NBA products.
