American Silver Eagle coins were first introduced in 1986 as part of the larger American Eagle bullion coin program from the United States Mint. Both the silver and gold version of the coin were unveiled in bullion for investors, and proof for collectors. When the program hit its collective 20th anniversary, the Mint introduced a burnished version in both silver and gold as well.
The American Silver Eagle is available only in a 1 oz weight, and the bullion coin has set numerous sales records in recent years as the demand for silver continues at break-neck pace. Only the bullion coin in the series has been produced in each of the 30 years of availability.
All 2016 American Silver Eagle coins in this listing have a perfect grade of MS70 from the NGC. A coin in this condition has its full, original luster and no detracting flaws on any of its surfaces.
The Early Release designation identifies a coin that was released by the US Mint and arrived at the NGC depository, or another NGC-approved facility, within the first 30 days of its release date.
On the obverse is the beautiful image of Walking Liberty, as created in 1916 by Adolph A. Weinman. The reverse features the heraldic eagle designed by John Mercanti, the former Chief Engraver of the United States Mint.
